Lauren Hess

Coach Lauren played volleyball for approximately nine years as a setter. She competed collegiately at Wheaton College and with Grand Canyon University’s club team. She also played at Odyssey Institute and competed in club volleyball with Arizona Sky, East Valley Juniors, and AZ Epic.

Coach Lauren brings three years of coaching experience and also serves as an assistant coach for the Arizona Christian University women’s volleyball team.

One of her favorite coaching memories was helping Arizona Christian upset the No. 6 team in the nation. The victory demonstrated what a team can accomplish when athletes play for one another rather than themselves. As a collegiate player, she was also part of an upset victory over the conference champions—an energetic match in which she embraced being the underdog and outworking the opponent.

Coach Lauren genuinely cares about every athlete who steps onto the court. Her goal is to develop each athlete as a complete person, player, and competitor. Volleyball played an important role in shaping who she is, and she hopes to give her athletes the same opportunity to learn valuable life lessons and grow beyond wins and losses.

Outside the gym, she enjoys playing pickleball, working out, watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and trying new restaurants and coffee shops.
