Boys Open Houses

The Arizona Region has established an Open House Period for players and their parents to visit different clubs and decide which club to try out for and join for the upcoming season.

It is a great time to talk with coaches, directors, and other academy staff to get all the information you need about the club season. The academy may evaluate potential members by running them through skills and physical tests, talking to the players and their parents about their club, and letting you know what level you might fit into in their club.

Registering for our Open Houses is straightforward. You can easily do it online through the registration link below. We offer flexibility with our open houses, allowing you to choose between each day or all three days for a discounted rate. We want to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the process.

Boys Tryout

Participating in tryouts is crucial to joining a competitive volleyball club like Oasis Volleyball Academy. It's a platform for coaches to assess players' skills, athleticism, and team compatibility. During tryouts, players can expect a variety of drills and scrimmage-like scenarios to showcase their abilities in serving, passing, setting, hitting, and defense. These evaluations assist coaches in forming balanced teams and identifying areas for improvement for individual players. While tryouts can be intense, they also offer a valuable opportunity for players to demonstrate their potential and passion for the sport and learn and grow from the experience, regardless of the outcome.

BOYS SEASON TRYOUT PROCEDURE

We require ALL players who wish to tryout for our club teams to pre-register on our website. This is a mandatory requirement, and you cannot participate in the tryout without completing this step online before arriving at the tryouts. Waivers, documents, and an online payment of $30.00 are included in the online registration. Links for registration are below.

  • Athletes will be evaluated on serving, passing, setting, hitting, defense, and overall volleyball IQ
  • Coaches will assess physical fitness, mental toughness, teamwork, and coachability.
  • Athletes are grouped by skill level and age to ensure proper development and fair competition.

Tryout Steps: 

We require that everything below be completed before your arrival.  The more organized and efficient we can be on tryout day, the smoother things will go.

  1. Find Your Age Division
  2. Create a LeagueApps Account
  3. Register with the AZ Region for a Player Membership
  4. Register with AAU for a Player Membership (not needed for our club division)
  5. Print and complete form (mandatory):
    1. USAVB Medical Release Form (print)
    2. Birth Certificate - MUST be uploaded to SportsEngine when completing your USAV Registration.
    3. CORE Safesport Training (If you are turning 18 before August 31st)
  6. Complete the online registration.
  • Please be on time for your designated tryout.  The tryouts take the full time allocated, and your athlete will be asked to be there the whole time.
  • Once the athlete has been checked in, they will begin the tryouts.
  • Tryouts are closed – parents are NOT permitted inside the gym, but at least one parent MUST remain on-site.
  • Athletes will be informed directly after the tryout which team they will be part of for the club season.
  • To secure your team spot, you must make a commitment payment and review and sign the Oasis Volleyball Academy contract immediately.
  • Uniform sizing is part of the commitment process and will be completed at tryouts.
