COLLEGE RECRUITING JOURNEY
At Oasis Volleyball Academy, we recognize that the college recruiting journey is a pivotal chapter in a student-athlete’s life. Since our establishment in 2006, we have steered numerous athletes towards collegiate volleyball, facilitating their commitments at colleges across the nation. Our approach is distinctive, transcending the mere logistics of recruiting. We focus on instilling a sense of ownership, discipline, and growth, empowering athletes to shape their future.
Our philosophy is simple: success in college volleyball is rooted in the athlete’s ability to take proactive, actionable steps toward their goals. At Oasis, we offer a structured methodology that guides and empowers athletes and their families to participate in the recruitment process actively. We outline what needs to be done, including crafting effective highlight reels, engaging with college coaches, understanding scholarship offers, and evaluating college programs. This approach instills confidence and ensures that each step is manageable, giving every athlete the tools to take full ownership of their path.
A crucial part of our strategy is the partnership with Coach David Beck, who brings unparalleled expertise. David was recruited to the Grand Canyon University Men’s program on an athletic scholarship and played for multiple seasons before beginning his coaching career in Phoenix. His insight into the player and coach perspective gives our athletes a significant advantage in understanding the recruiting landscape.
David is a championship-winning coach with years of experience coaching and recruiting for NCAA Division 1 Power 4 and mid-Major Conference Volleyball Programs domestically and internationally. He has guided multiple All-Conference athletes, a Conference Player of the Year, and an AVCA All-American. As the lead blocking coach for Towson, the team ranked fifth in all Division 1 at 2.89 blocks per set, highlighted by a 16.5-block performance in a 4-set win against the #7 ranked National Semifinalist University of Pittsburgh. David also helped Towson secure the CAA Tournament and Regular Season Championships, earning a historic first-ever school NCAA Tournament seed and a ranking as high as #26 in the AVCA NCAA D1 coaches’ poll.
David has created “Recruiting Class,” a comprehensive community platform that provides athletes with the tools and guidance to navigate college recruiting with clarity and confidence.(https://www.davidbeckvolleyball.com/recruiting-class) The platform offers up-to-date college coach contact information databases, access to leading speakers in the volleyball world, and live Q&A sessions. Most importantly, “Recruiting Class” provides personalized guidance to athletes who have demonstrated commitment to the work. This approach reflects Oasis Volleyball Academy’s values of passion, resilience, integrity, discipline, and excellence.
Our role is to provide guidance, structure, and mentorship; however, it’s the athlete’s responsibility to seize the opportunity, work diligently, and drive their success. This journey is about much more than playing volleyball at the next level—it’s about building character, developing resilience, and shaping a future where the athlete thrives on and off the court.
