Kaia Locke

Coach Kaia played volleyball for 11 years before medically retiring from the sport. She competed with AZ Epic Volleyball Club, Verrado High School, and Ottawa University as a right-side hitter.

She began her coaching career as an assistant coach with AZ Epic, where she coached for three years. She has also spent four years with the Canyon View High School volleyball program and brings three years of experience as a club head coach.

During high school, she was named Viper Volleyball Player of the Year twice and served as a team captain. At the collegiate level, her team won its NAIA conference championship and advanced to the national tournament. Her coaching accomplishments include a third-place Open finish at the 2025 Colorado Crossroads, first place in the Open division at the 2025 Festival Fiesta Classic, a fifth-place Gold Bracket finish at the 2026 AAU Nationals, and an Open Division championship at the 2026 Colorado Crossroads.

Coach Kaia teaches her athletes that there is a difference between being a selfish athlete and a selfless athlete. She believes teams win and lose together and emphasizes the mental side of competition. Her goal is to help players navigate challenges, support one another, and understand that their teammates are their family.

Beyond the court, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, thrifting, working out, running with her mom, and finding any excuse to visit her favorite sushi restaurant.
