Maile Tanaka

Coach Maile played club volleyball in Canada for four years and competed at Holy Trinity Academy through her senior year. She trained with the U17 Elite West boys team and played libero for the Canadian Select Team. A versatile athlete with experience at every position, she currently plays at Ottawa University Arizona.

Her coaching experience includes working with high school boys in Canada. At OVA, she is excited to share her knowledge and passion for the game with young athletes.

One of Coach Maile’s favorite volleyball memories is running through her dorm singing Christmas music in July with the Canadian Select Team. Another highlight was defeating her rival school in the final during her senior year of high school.

Coach Maile wants her athletes to develop not only as volleyball players but also as people. She strives to create a safe, supportive gym where athletes can step away from the stresses of everyday life, build confidence, and enjoy the game.

Beyond the court, she enjoys weightlifting, traveling, hiking, and spending time with the people she loves.
